The Phaius tankerville, also known as the nun orchid, is a terrestrial orchid that thrives in bright light with occasional drying between waterings. With new growths emerging after blooming, these plants produce tall spikes carrying clusters of 10 to 20 flowers. Ranging in color from brown to maroon with a fragrant pink or white lip, each flower can reach a width of up to 4 inches.
