Cymbidium finlaysonianum var Flava is a species is native to Borneo, Cambodia, Jawa, Malaya, Maluku, Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Thailand, Vietnam. It is found growing on trees in open lowland forest or secondary forest, usually near the coast, or on exposed coastal rocks, sometimes colonizing rubber palm. It is a large sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte, Finlayson's Cymbidium blooms in winter and spring from long, slender, pendulous, laxly, many flowered inflorescence. The flowers have a slight pleasant scent and last about two weeks. This form bears yellow flowers with a white lip.
