Description

Aerides odoratum sp. is a species of orchid. The inflorescence is pendulous &  many long-lasting, fragrant, waxy flowers, which are white with purple or pink edges. Each flower has a forward-facing Spur and grows on a short, leafy stem. The word "Aerides" is the common name of the Tower of the Winds in Athens, Greece. The name of the genus refers to the epiphytic growth habit of the species and literally means "air plant"
These are also called the foxtail orchids.

These orchids are all epiphytic. They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchids must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Saturate the roots with water every time you water them, which means the roots should turn green and retain a drop of water at the tip. Watering of these Vandas must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns ( top leaves), a condition that can cause crown rot.
