Vandaceous plants require daily watering and in the summer probably twice a day. Spray the water on the roots until the grey roots turns green. You can also soak the roots once in a week with fertilizer water, if the plants appear dehydrated.  Learn more about watering here

Description

Vandachostylis Crownfox Red Gem is a hybrid Vanda orchid, A hybrid of Vanda Red Gem X Rhynchostyllis gigantea. The flowers are waxy, bright red. The inflorescence is very attractive with lots of closely knit flowers. 

These orchids are all epiphytic. They do not like any potting medium. Vanda orchids must not be allowed to dry out entirely. Saturate the roots with water everytime your water, that means the roots should turn green and retain a drop of water at the tip. Watering of these Vandas must be done with care to prevent water from remaining in the crowns ( top leaves ), a condition that can cause crown rot.
