Bulbophyllum vaginatum is a species of orchid that is found in Thailand, Malaysia, Java, and Borneo. It typically grows in mangrove, lowland swamp forests, at elevations ranging from sea-level to 600 meters. This small-sized, hot to warm growing, epiphytic plant has yellow, ovoid pseudobulbs that are spaced 2 inches apart and carries a single, leaf. Its slender, 4 inch long inflorescence blooms in the late winter and sometimes again in the summer or fall. It features a cluster of filamenty white flowers that resemble fireworks.
