Cattleya orchids are very sturdy and can take a lot of abuse from those who tend to forget to water. They are also tolerant of several temperature ranges.

  Light

This plant prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate medium indirect light. Plants grown under ideal light will have apple green leaves and plants which are not getting enough light will have dark green leaves. Learn more about light here 

 Watering

In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark.  Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. Cattleya skinneri var. coerulea is a species native to Central America, where it thrives in wet mountain forests, a compact growing species, flower color is a light beautiful lilac-blue, spring blooming. These are species plants, please do not expect them to have fleshy pseudobulbs and canes like the hybrid cattleyas. The Plants have some black wear & tear marking on the old psudobulbs.

The coerulea form is a very rare selection of this species. Cattleya skinneri is the national flower of Costa Rica, where it is known as guaria morada. normally a fully matured and the settled plant produces 3 or more flowers on a spike, so the result is a marvelous display of flowers.
