Cattleya Care Guide
Cattleya Care Guide
Cattleya orchids are very sturdy and can take a lot of abuse from those who tend to forget to water. They are also tolerant of several temperature ranges.
Light
Watering
In Coconut Husk medium water retention is more compared to Pine Bark, so plants in Coconut Husk may require once in 2-3 days watering compared to 1-2 days watering in Pine Bark. Medium may dry faster or slower depending on the weather conditions. So always touch and feel the medium, only when partially dry water the plant. Learn more about watering here
Fertilizing
Fertilizing your orchid regularly provides it with the nutrients it needs for optimal health, immunity and vigorous blooming. Weekly once with Bio-20 or Basfoliar 19:19:19 for growth and rooting. Once a month with Basfoliar 13-40-13. Learn more about fertilizing here

- Explodes with magnificent, deep fiery red to multicolour blooms, often complemented by a beautifully intense, contrasting lip.
- Produces striking clusters of medium-sized, waxy flowers tightly held together, creating an eye-catching "ball of fire" effect against its lush green foliage.
- Thrives in intermediate climates. It typically blooms during the summer and autumn seasons, offering highly durable and long-lasting blossoms.
- Light: Requires medium to high, bright indirect sunlight. Filtered morning sun is ideal, but avoid direct mid-day sun to prevent leaf scorching.
- Watering: Maintain a disciplined wet-to-dry cycle. Water thoroughly once the coarse, well-draining orchid potting medium (like bark or charcoal) is nearly dry, ensuring it never sits in waterlogged conditions.
- Temperature: Prefers intermediate temperature conditions ranging comfortably between 18°C and 35°C. Protect the plant from extreme drafts, frosty winters, and heat waves.
