Grammatophyllum speciosum also known as the tiger orchid, is a species orchid native to the Philippines. A showstopping species orchid with 2 to 3 foot flower spikes bearing 50 to 100 blooms each. Flowers summer through fall for 1 to 2 months. Grow in large containers with coarse epiphytic mix, bright light, warmth, and consistent moisture year-round. You can grow them on the ground too as long as the soil does not remain soggy. They grow huge when grown on the ground.
