Paphiopedilum phillipinense ‘mercury’ x rothchildianum C01 is a Paphiopedilum hybrid of the two selections of the respective species. So the offspring produced (primary hybrid) is a multiloral Paph with the best traits of both the parents.
Paph philippinense is a popular long-petaled multifloral Paph species. It can have up to 7 flowers per inflorescence. This species is native to Philippines to N. Borneo. The Murcury selection of this species is used to produce this cross.
